Performed in the ruins of Reading Abbey

Produced by Rabble Theatre Company

Hugh Cook: an unknown monk living quietly at Reading Abbey until a chance encounter with King Henry VIII results in an unexpected promotion.

Suddenly propelled into a world of intrigue, politics and danger, Hugh must balance his beliefs with the orders of the formidable King. As England breaks away from Europe, he has to make an impossible choice.

On the 900th year anniversary of the Abbey, RABBLE brings to life the extraordinary story of Reading’s Last Abbot.
